Color wheel
Objective:
To create a color wheel with examples of tints, shades, and tones for each of the 12 hues.
Design Requirements:
Develop 3-5 wedge ideas. Within each wedge, plan at least 7 spaces for the following and label:
*One space for pure color
*One space for a light tint
*One space for a dark tint
*One space for a light shade
*One space for a dark shade
*One space for a strong tone
*One space for a weak tone
Keep pairs of color types together. Additional tints, tones, shades, neutrals or complements may be added, if desired.

Painting Tips:
*Mix the dark color into the light color to make shades or tints. Use up all of the light color. Mix the complement into the pure color to make tones. Use up all of the pure color.
*Water down your color and make an outline of the shape to be painted. Fill in with the thicker paint.

Tint =white + color
Shade = color + black
Tone = color + complement (opposite)
Hue=color name
Value=light/dark
Intensity or Chroma=bright/dull
